Fred Bach and Larry Gould get the prize for serious nostalgia in my mind. I hadn't seen a single overhead cam Ford engine in competition since the late '60s. I asked if they weren't a little concerned about using such a rare engine for top fuel racing and the reply was "I've got a boxcar load of them!" They were still "looking for what the engine wants" in the words of Larry Gould, but what a fabulous debut for a brand new car.
